And I'm back again with # 6 folks. This is the REV coming at you from somewhere in this great nation of ours. And, it is great for sure. At least in my opinion. And as usual I speak is my opinion. Others may or may not agree and that is cool with me. We are all entitled to speak out piece cause that is our right. So... I choose to do so. No-one can fault me for that.

Having said that I will now do so. This time I will talk about how I think the government should treat Marijuana and how I feel they should regulate it. It is after all no different than booze or cigarettes. As a matter of fact pot is far less harmless than those two.

OK I hear it now. All of the people saying I'm crazy. Well, we shall see what they say when I am done this issue. Maybe they will have a change of heart maybe not. No problem.

How to deal with Marijuana and regulate it!!!

Here are some of my ideas.

Treat it like alcohol. It is against the law to drink and drive so should it be with smoking pot. You do, you get busted for driving under the influence. And then the same laws can be applied. You can lose your license, you can be fined, you lose merits or get de-merits and your license fee goes up, you can be thrown in jail if you are too stoned, you can face stiff fines, you can also have your vehicle impounded. Your license can be suspended also.      Wow what could the government do with all that extra revenue. Maybe use it for health care.

It is against the law to drink in public so it should be illegal to smoke pot in public. There is a place for everything to be done and when it comes to pot and drinking the streets are not the place. Show respect for other people and don't put it in anyone's face. Young children don't need to see that. You want to smoke take it somewhere private. Here's a good part. You do you get busted and fined etc. . More revenue for the government to spend maybe on education where funds are needed most.

Like alcohol, you can only possess certain amounts. Well hey do the same with marijuana. Set a personal limit that an individual can legally have in their possession without fear of prosecution. I feel one ounce is a good limit myself. No need to have more than that anyway if your only smoking for pleasure. And it should not be accessible to children and must be secured away somewhere safe. Not left laying around all over the place. And if you are found to have over the limit in your possession, then guess what busted. Pay the fine and have your stash confiscated. You take the risk you pay the price. Hey more revenue to feed the hungry people in our country.

The government regulates alcohol and its distribution. Now there is no way they will ever be able to control or regulate the distribution of marijuana it would be impossible. But, they could treat the sellers like those that sell liquor illegally. You get caught you again pay the price. A fine. Oh no more revenue to fix our highways. I wonder if that's a good thing. You bet it is. The government complains now that our roads are in bad shape but not enough money to take care of the problem. Hmmmm....I think they should start using their minds a bit. They are suppose to be the smart ones and know how to run this country of ours. If that is so, then what are they doing turning us into a third world country and letting our people and children starve.

There are many more ways that the government can deal with marijuana issue and use it to our benefit instead of sending all these people to jail and giving them a criminal record. If they cant pay the fines make them work it off. Only send them to jail if their is no other option available. Or maybe refuse them the GST rebate and put it towards their bill. Take their income tax return too. More revenue to house the poor and destitute. No, that would make too much sense. Right? Yes i'm being facetious!

What the government does is say hey you have anything to do with marijuana you are a criminal and deserve to go to jail. But, I have a question? Or two as it turns out. Why is it that whenever someone goes to court for what-ever reason all you here is I'm sorry I was drunk. I didn't mean it. Or i don't know what I did cause I was drunk.

In some cases that's good enough to get you a lesser sentence or maybe none at all. Maybe just some treatment. Or probation. I laugh when I hear the news or read the paper and it's always the same excuse. It was because of alcohol. Innocent family killed by drunk driver. Woman and children beaten, caused by alcohol. I don't know why I robbed the place I was drunk. Single vehicle accident 4 young kids die, alcohol involved.

You don't hear too many times i did it or it happened because I was stoned on marijuana or that marijuana was involved in innocent deaths. So to one of my questions. Why is it that its okay to people to get smashed on booze and cause all the problems and misery and even though it's wrong it's still okay. We will help you get help cause we know that alcohol is or was responsible.

The government coddles alcoholics yet pot smokers are scum and criminals. You explain that to me. Is it because of the revenue the government collects from alcohol by way of taxes that they are more lenient or because they don't want to speak out against it because that would upset the booze companies that make big contributions to their war chests for campaigning.      I don't know but I have my own opinion.

Now to my other question? Why is it that the government says pot is so bad yet cigarettes are still legal? I read a notice that the government put out saying so many Canadians will die from tobacco use every year. Hmmm. I wonder how many people die from smoking pot or marijuana each year. Not too many I suspect. But, does the government ban tobacco use to save these lives that they say are going to be taken. Nope! Why not?

In my opinion if the government knows this amount of people will die every year but they don't do anything except warn us that it is our choice to smoke, then they are guilty of premeditated murder. Maybe we should hold them accountable and charge them with First degree murder for each person that dies. What is your opinion? Let me know.

Anyway there is another reason that makes me say smoking pot is less harmful than smoking cigarettes or drinking alcohol. But again that is just my own opinion according to the REV.

I will close with that and now wish all the creatures on this earth a great day.

Peace to all and good Tokin'
